Jessie’s Amazing Chili
Jessie had me at Italian sausage on this one... an instant crowd fave. Perfect for game day!!
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
4 links hot Italian sausage
1 small onion, chopped
3 ounces tomato paste
2 tablespoons cumin
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cubes of beef bouillon
6 ounces beer
1 16 ounce can kidney beans, drained
1 16 ounce can kidney beans in spicy chili sauce, undrained
1 28 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 small green bell pepper, diced
1 small red bell pepper, diced
2 jalapeño peppers, diced
2 tablespoons bacon, finely diced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 teaspoon hot sauce
Instructions
In a large pot, add ground beef, Italian sausage, and onions and brown the meat. Spoon out any excess grease from the pot.
Push some of the meat aside and add the tomato paste and all the spices. Allow to toast for 1-2 minutes.
Dissolve beef bouillon in the beer, and use it to deglaze the pot.
Add the remaining items and simmer on low heat for 2 hours.
