Kitty-Do Grilled Shrimp
“Do” (pronounced doe) is a suffix that means “way” or “path”, akin to method and technique. Master this grilling technique and enlightenment will be yours.
Ingredients
1 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup soy
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon mirin
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
10 large shrimp
Instructions
Combine ginger, soy sauce, lime juice, mirin, sesame oil and vegetable oil.
Marinate shrimp in the mixture for up to 1 hour.
Insert 2 metal skewers through 5 shrimp, alternating vegetables of your choice in between. Repeat with remaining shrimp.
Preheat a gas BBQ grill to about 250F. Place shrimp skewers on the grill, close the lid, and cook for 1 minute. Increase heat; when temperature reaches 325F, open the lid, flip the shrimp, using tongs, to cook the other side, and close the lid. Increase heat again; when temperature reaches 400F, turn the grill off and wait about 30 seconds. Transfer shrimp to a plate and allow to cool for 1-2 minutes before eating.

- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Once shimmering, add ground beef and garlic salt. Brown the ground beef and remove as much excess grease as possible.
- Add the beans, ketchup, mustard and two tablespoons of water.
- Mix well and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cheese over the top and cover the skillet for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle the top with the onions.
- Dress the lettuce with Thousand Island.
